I’m sure you’ve heard about Arizona’s new anti-immigrant law.  We all know our nation’s immigration system is broken. Every day, families are ripped apart, and the rifts in our communities continue to grow. It’s clear we need to do something – but laws like what Arizona just passed do nothing to solve the real problem.  Instead, they encourage racial profiling and divide our communities.

The faith community is speaking out. Inspired by Isaiah 58 which tells us a “true fast” is one in service of “loosening the chains of injustice” and welcoming the stranger, we’re engaging in eight weeks of constant prayer and public witness – and we’re telling our governors we won’t stand for Arizona-like legislation in our states.
